How To: Wear Leopard Divinely

Tip #6: So what to wear for accessories? Do wear neutral jewelry, like black or nude. Or go for a really trendy and perfectly matching (everything) jewelry "color": clear. Can't go wrong with that, as long as it's generally a classy piece. (You might want to nix the chandelier/statement stuff.)

Tip #7: It's a great idea to cover up. We're thinking a black cardigan. You might even feel too wild sometimes without it. (Impromptu mother-in-law visit?)

Tip #1: Wear something simple in a flattering and classy shape; like something pulled in at the waist by designer Diane von Furstenberg.

Tip #2: Again with the classy, wear at least a somewhat modest hemline for a dress/skirt. Don't show major thigh! (And don't wear leopard pants.)

Tip #3: Keep other aspects simple and neutral; without too much detail or range in colors.

Tip #4: While, like we wrote, we don't want you going sexbomb, we also don't want you to cover everything from your chin to your wrists to your ankles in leopard. That's just too much! (Example of that bad fashion here and here.)

Tip #5: You've heard of double denim and mixing prints, but don't double up on the leopard prints. It's not only tacky, but makes one look kind of crazy, or just trashy.

Leopards are dangerous, but so is leopard print. Done wrong it can go so, so bad. Here are some tips on how to take leopard print into divine fashion.

Red Carpet: Mindy Kaling is a Scrolldown

A scrolldown from below the hair down, at least.

Of course that hair is of the worst!

Moving on to less obvious things.

From this view, Kaling's dress seems like divine fashion.

I wish it could stay that way; I wish I could just gaze upon this photo only.

But reality must set in.

I know what the problem is, aside from it being a mullet dress, I've additionally realized one fashion rule.

Rule: Dresses with lengths in-between floor and knee need to have less volume. No crinoline or hoops, and don't add tulle on top of (under) those things.

Yes, 60s skirts are flattering when wide, but this is not that, and those are not as big as this.

Mindy was made to look short and dumpy.

Bury that dress!

Bad Fashion: Leopard Jumpsuit

More leopard!

Why do brands seem to want to make leopard print all-encompassing right now, just because it's trending?

The reality:

A) Leopard is best when subtle and is a small part of an ensemble.

B) Jumpsuits are always bad.

To further our frustrations, Net-a-Porter suggests wearing these with "ankle boots" for a "fabulous finish".

It's more like one would finish off the life of her fashion 'cred.

We suggest: definitely go nude shoes, show some ankle! How about sandals, like these Pradas? Still though, make no mistake, we hate this.

We're not sure exactly how to top-off this look, and doubt anyone should try. But we also kind of wish it weren't so blousy with an unflattering "tucked" feel, because we really want to suggest a black belt as finishing touch, but would that even work?

(And then if we did suggest that, we'd go on to suggest a black cardigan, cover this ish up!)

We're afraid this can't work, and must be buried in the dump. What do you think?
